Your zipSTOP will need to be re-certified every year

We are proud to bring you the zipSTOP IR braking system. Part of the family of zipSTOP's that are now available on the market.

Are you looking for the best in zip wire braking systems? Do you have a zip wire that runs fast and need the best braking system?

A full family of zipSTOP braking systems offer the best braking system you can get for your zip wire.

The zipSTOP IR is a streamline version of the popular zipSTOP with the "IR" standing for Internal Reduction.

This means that the device, unlike the zip STOP, does not need an external reduction line system. Therefore making installation much easier along with a saving on cost too.

The zipSTOP IR braking system uses HeadRush Technologies patented self-regulating eddy current magnetic braking technology to slow zip wire riders and bring them to a smooth and comfortable stop, even at high speeds.

Operates in all weather conditions and has a low maintenance and operational cost.

This zipSTOP IR is for rider arrival speeds between 29-60 kph (18-36 mph)

Watch the zipSTOP Braking System video and see the benefits it offers:

What is the difference between the zipSTOP IR and the zipSTOP versions:
  • The IR stands for internal reduction.
  • This device cannot be used with an external reduction line setup.
  • The benefits of the IR include simpler installation, no external reduction lines (although you will still need a redirection line), and the capacity to handle a wider range of rider arrival speeds.

Here's what's in the box:

  • zipSTOP IR Braking System
  • Brake Trolley
  • Fixed Mounting Bracket
Please note that you can upgrade your fixed mounting bracket to a Pivot Mount

zipSTOP IR benefits:

  • Eddy current braking technology adjusts automatically to ensure a smooth rider deceleration.
  • Allows for a wide variety of rider weights and speeds.
  • Automatically resets after each rider, minimizing human error.
  • Helps mitigate risk by removing human error from the rider or guides.
  • Low cost of ownership.
  • Able to withstand outdoor environments and work consistently in any conditions.

zipSTOP IR Braking System Specification:

  • Rated Working Capacity: 15 to 150 kgs
  • Device Weight: 23.5 kgs
  • Warranty: 2 years

Rated Working Velocity:

Up to 60 k/ph (37 mph) utilizing a direct 1:1 load - This device cannot be used with external reduction lines.

There are many benefits to using zipSTOP as the primary brake for your zip wire braking system:

Magnetic Braking Technology:
zipSTOP utilizes the patented eddy current magnetic braking technology to create a comfortable braking experience. Magnetic eddy current braking is extremely reliable and low maintenance due to no contacting parts in the braking system.

Self-Regulating:
The magnetic braking technology automatically adjusts the resistance based on the weight of the rider to create the most comfortable zip line braking experience. The zipSTOP zip wire brake uses centrifugal force and adjusts automatically to lighter or heavier riders.

Increase Throughput:
Provides consistent braking and automatically resets after each ride, greatly increasing zip wire throughput. Someone will still need to visually check for proper reset of the zip wire brake.

Low Maintenance:
Magnetic eddy current braking is a low maintenance technology that is extremely reliable. The zipSTOP is built to withstand the elements and has a low cost of ownership.

Weight Capacity:
As part of a complete zip wire braking system, the zipSTOP zip wire brake gives you flexibility in zip wire design and operations because it allows a wide range of rider weights and rider arrival speeds.
